The country is separated from Malaysia by the Johor Strait in the north, and from Indonesia’s Riau Islands by the Singapore Strait in the south. Singapore is the world’s third leading financial center and a cosmopolitan world city that plays an important role in international trade and finance. The Port of Singapore is one of the five busiest ports in the world.
