Overview

Yogyakarta is also the capital of the Yogyakarta Special Region on the island of Java which is famous for the Yogyakarta Palace or Yogyakarta Palace where the Sultan’s family still lives in the palace to this day. This palace is also open to the public, but not all of the buildings, only some parts of the buildings can be seen by the public. Many parts of this city are also decorated with touches of Javanese culture that people will never forget and always remember the unique characteristics there. We can find typical Javanese ornaments on street lights, on buildings or structures along the roads and so on which makes this city unique and beautiful. That’s why this city is called the City of Culture.
