Indonesia, known by its official name as the Republic of Indonesia or more fully the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia which is crossed by the equator and is located between the continents of Asia and Oceania, so it is known as a transcontinental country, and between the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. .
Indonesia borders a number of countries in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Indonesia shares land borders with Malaysia on the islands of Kalimantan and Sebatik, with Papua New Guinea on the island of Papua, and with Timor Leste on the island of Timor. The only countries that share sea borders with India are Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Palau and the union territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India.
